This Maestro® Bell Pepper and White Cheddar Scones served with Yum Yum™ Cherry Tomato Jam will wow your guests this fall! Maestro® Bell Peppers and cheddar pair perfectly with our sweet and savoury tomato jam. These scones are going to be your go to cozy treat this season!

Ingredients

SCONE INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 cups finely chopped Maestro® Bell Peppers

  • 3/4 cup grated white cheddar

  • 3/4 cup grated salted butter

  • 3 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 egg, whisked

  • 1 Tbsp baking powder

  • 1 Tbsp salt


JAM INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb Yum Yum™ Cherry Tomatoes

  • 1 cup tomato paste

  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1 Tbsp Kosher salt

  • 1/2 Tbsp black pepper

Preparation

Maestro® Bell Pepper & Cheddar Scones

  1. Preheat oven to 400

  2. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder together.

  3. Add grated cheddar cheese and grated butter. Do not over mix.

  4. Add Maestro® Bell Peppers, milk and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix gently for 30 seconds.

  5. Knead dough gently on a flat surface until it forms a round disk.

  6. Transfer dough to a parchment paper lined baking sheet and softly push down the dough.

  7. Cut into 8 pieces and separate on baking sheet.

  8. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes


YUM YUM™ Cherry Tomato Jam

  1. Place all ingredients in a pot and simmer over medium heat for 25 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and let cool.

  3. Blend for desired consistency.

  4. Serve alongside warm scones!
